A Trip to Beaufort

A Trip to Beaufort

We planned a few days ago to take a day trip to Nags Head but at the last minute I remembered visiting a blog with a story on Beaufort and the rest is history. For our day trips to Raleigh, we haven't been bringing Miss Phoebe but this time we decided that it would be more fun to explore the little town and bring her along for the ride.

It took us about 2.5 hours to get there and as we pulled into the "downtown" area of town we stumbled upon the crossroads of Queen and Ann street. Nothing very significant to the average tourist but for us it was remarkable. Ann is the name of my mom and aunt's mom and Queen is the nickname that my aunt went by among family and friends (and sometimes coworkers!). Not only was it crazy but it was fun for us to have a reminder of them together in one place on this trip that is in remembrance of Cardie.

We had a great time wandering around Beaufort and enjoyed a delicious pizza in town. They even allowed Phoebe to chill outside with us and she relaxed in the sun and took occasional sips of water from her very own water bowl. Ha! We took a driving tour through surrounding towns after lunch and took a quick walk on the beach before heading home.
