6 more days until we take possession of our new home - let the countdown begin!
In the spirit of the countdown and the start to this new season of life, I (Jordan) want to write about a few things before we kick off this blog on our adventures.
1. We plan to fill this blog with beautiful pictures and stories of our time on the road. However, it will also be filled with stories of our point of view surrounding the events leading up to this change in our lives. That part won't be pretty. But it is a part of our story. I encourage you to sit with those parts too and not pass them over. It's hard. Often times we want to skip over the awkward and move to the enjoyable. But Lara Casey said it well when she said "Make your mess your message". The death of Cardie is the essence of our message. A message to live. A message to sit with pain. A message to be in the moment while you have the time. And to be there in the mess even though it makes you want to crawl into bed for the rest of the day.
2. You'll hear more from me through this blog than you probably will in person. Please don't take that personally. It's the ABCs of me. I'm better at expressing myself in writing (and photography) than I'm often able to in person. If you know me, are you surprised? Ha!
3. We want to hear from you. Please comment or send messages to us via the contact page. The blogging world thrives on building community and that's what we want to do here. Question what I write. Share your own story. Ask questions. We are here to listen to you too.
4. We are very aware that we are exceptionally fortunate to be able to do something like this. It is not lost on us. But it came at a cost. A cost of losing this amazing woman we call our sister and aunt. And the best way for us to move forward is to honor her through this trip.
Come back soon to meet Thelma, Louise (yes we went there) and the rest of the crew. Our story begins in Nashville and will lead us to Anderson, IN next.
