An Art Deco Dream
If you want to be plucked from this current year and transported to the 1920s era, head to South Beach Miami. It can’t promise an experience free from our current political situation - seeing as there are still a myriad of election signs hanging everywhere - but it can brighten the color spectrum to an almost pastel lovers dream.
The Art Deco area of South Beach is something else.
You can learn a lot more about me by the fact that the area really brought up fond memories of The Golden Girls for me. Oh yes, I was introduced to this show by my aunt and instantly became a fan. The palm leaf decor and bright colors drew me back to Rose, Dorothy and Blanche’s famous lanai and their fabulous 80s leisure wear.
Phoebe was relieved to get out of the RV and be out and about amongst people and weird smells. She has been cooped up for a bit with a sad rash due to Florida’s harsh grass, mold and pollen. Apparently her very delicate skin is not a fan of Florida in general. She is a trooper though and has become quite resilient. Her main rash has cleared up and now she just gets the occasional pink chest from being in the grass - which is actually quite normal for her because that even happened in Nashville. She follows after me in the sensitive skin category.
The only downside to the trip was that Phoebe could not go on the beach. I took a few pictures and she longingly watched me from the entrance. When we were ready to leave she plopped herself down in some sand nearby and indicated firmly that she did not want to leave.
The best part? It was a cool 68 degrees! It was not 85 degrees and humid but instead slightly warm with a very nice breeze. We were able to last much longer on our walk and enjoy all of the Art Deco wonders.
