Hey Hey Santa Fe
Occasionally I like to change the color of the photographs I take to black and white - for a variety of different reasons. But for the pictures in Santa Fe, it was not an option. I tried it on one photo and it lost all the character and vibe of what is so clearly Santa Fe (and Albuquerque for that matter). Color is everywhere! Not only in the design details, clothing and art but also on their highways. Beautiful turquoise stripes run along the top of their major roadways.
We loved how, especially in Santa Fe, the architecture jived so well from one building to the next - even if it was a CVS or major box store! Their houses, interestingly, blend in very well with the landscape. So well in fact that your attention is focused on the beauty of your surroundings and not on the neighborhood houses.
On our way back from Santa Fe, we took a little detour to Cochiti Lake. Gorgeous!
Today is our last day in New Mexico - we'll be heading to Arizona tomorrow!
