Taking Us Back to the '90s
A big part of this trip was driving around to see all of the places that made up the 10 years my mom lived here and where I was born.
My mom started out her adventures here in La Jolla and made her way south. I got to see one of her first apartments and take a stroll through the small town. We enjoyed the stunning view of the ocean from George's (in La Jolla) and ate a quick snack of chips and guac. The first few pictures are from the restaurant.
When you reach the wild flowers, you've come to Presidio Park - the place where my mom got married. It was so fun to see the location and witness others setting up for special events too.
Once you reach the dress, that is the start of Seaport Village. We wandered up and down the rows of shops and grabbed an ice cream that cost as much as a local 7 bedroom/6.5 bath home. Darn you, Ben and Jerry!
We also went to the apartment I came home to after being born and a house my mom and I lived in before moving east. It was pale green and looked very cute!
She also pointed out the hospital I was born in and a few of the spots she took me when I was little.
It was so cool to be back and only a few days before my birthday! 27 years ago and of course a lot has changed and so have we.
I think my favorite place of all was Coronado Island and that is coming up next!
