Family Campus Tour - Claremont McKenna College
Now that we've made it to the west coast, we are in the neighborhood of my college, my mom's and my aunt's. Coincidentally, my aunt and I went to the same college!
My mom went to three!
So, instead of just two visits, we have four. Woohoo!
Our first stop on the Family Campus Tour was Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California.
When my mom was accepted into the college, it was actually called Claremont Men's College - and she started the beginning of the fourth year since becoming co-ed.
Compared to the next three colleges on the tour, Claremont McKenna is very small! Not only is the individual campus small but so is the student size. My mom estimated that her incoming freshman class was around 400 students. That amount of students could have fit in just one of my college's lecture halls with a couple hundred seats left over! What a difference!
It was amazing to walk the same places my mom strolled a little over 30 years ago. I got to see her dorm room building, dining hall, lecture buildings and buildings that were new to her.
And I couldn't get over how nice the weather was in March! It is WINTER and it feels like a very mild summer day. It was absolutely gorgeous!
My mom has talked about Claremont McKenna ever since I can remember so it was really cool to finally put a physical place to the memories and stories.
Oh! And we ended the tour with In-N-Out...I'd say it was a successful and memorable day!
Coming up soon - UCLA!
