Pike Place Market
Yesterday, we took a trip over to Pike Place Market. The last time I went was probably over 10 years ago when I spent the summer with my aunt, uncle and twin baby cousins.
Not much has changed from my recollection but it was fun to walk around with my mom and hear stories about my grandmother's PB&J shop, her (and my aunt's!) childhood in Seattle and see old buildings where some of my family used to work.
Famished after 25 minutes searching for parking and our 12 block walk to the market, we headed straight for Cutters and plopped down for a delicious meal overlooking Elliot Bay. Once we were nice and full, we meandered up and down the market.
We oohed and aahed over the most stunning bouquets of flowers and marveled at all of the fresh seafood and produce.
Beecher's was overflowing with people but we got a quick peek of them making a big vat of cheese. Yum!
And not surprisingly, Starbucks (the original!) had a line around the block like Barack Obama may be just about to enter. I may have actually braved the line if he showed up.
After a good few hours, we decided to head back to the truck because we had a pretty long trek to our parking spot.
And to top it all off, we got a great glimpse of the Space Needle before heading back to our campground.
