Rendevous in La Conner
I love flipping through our family photo albums. Currently, they are tucked away in our storage unit safe and sound but one photo I can remember without digging through the photos to find it. It is of my great grandmother and me (my grandfather's mother on my mom's side of the family). We are both lying on a bed staring at each other. I'm not sure how old she was but the juxtaposition of young and old (I was just under a year old) is stunning. I wish we both could have had the chance to get to know each other. She passed away in '91 and was (as far as I know) the first Cardine in our family.
She lived in La Conner so we hopped in the truck and took a drive over to the small town to enjoy the beautiful weather and explore.
I can practically smell a bookstore from miles away. Unfortunately I can't tell when they are open or closed. This one was closed only on Tuesdays. We visited La Conner on, you guessed it, a Tuesday.
When Phoebe is with us, we don't often saunter into stores but this one caught my eye. A beautiful store called Handmade.
Phoebe was very curious about this store and took it upon herself to stroll inside. She was instantly greeted by the shop dog and they did a little prance to get to know each other.
Phoebe's shop dog friend sending her on her way. Or throwing her out. I can't really tell.
