On our way to Flathead Lake we took a stroll around Bigfork. Exactly what I imagined a small Montana town to look like. It was full of beautiful flowers, charm and a lot of lovely shops. Phoebe liked it so much she let a few people walk up to her and before that she invited herself into a tiny town meeting full of older people. She got quite a warm welcome.
Then, we jetted off to Flathead Lake where we were instructed not to stick even our big toe in the water if we didn't plan on washing our entire body from head to toe very vigorously and then towel dry and burn said towel. Well, alright, that's an over exaggeration. Just a case of swimmers itch. Unfortunately for the three of us, we all have sensitive skin so that was a hard no.
It took me over an hour to write those two paragraphs because of a movie called The Judge. Stop what you are doing and go watch it now. You can thank me later.
Meanwhile, back at Flathead Lake, Phoebe was perturbed that she could not swim in the lake so we took her up on these rock cliffs, far away from the water. Such a gorgeous lake! It almost felt like the ocean. We couldn't see the ends.
The drive back to the campground was almost as beautiful as the lake. Big, wide open blonde fields with mountains surrounding the whole thing. We totally get why people love Montana.
