Glacier National Park
Holy smokes I'm behind on blogging! We've had some internet troubles but now that we are not in the middle of the woods, I'm able to catch up.
Glacier National Park.
We were so excited to visit Glacier National Park. The parts that we saw were beautiful but a lot of it was closed. Not only was it smokey in general from all of the other fires around the area but when we were driving into Glacier, we saw a handful of active fires in the mountains. We didn't see actual flames but we saw a lot of thick smoke swirling up in several areas.
As you can imagine, there were many signs indicating that fire danger was extremely high. No campfires. No fireworks. Nothing.
We called multiple times before arriving to our campground to see if they were closed. Spokane was pretty smokey so we thought Glacier might be out of the question. Thankfully, we still got to go.
Glacier reminded me a lot of Hurricane Ridge. Glacier had the benefit of a lot of beautiful streams, rivers and water in general. And it was chilly! My 70 degree loving heart was ecstatic and I skipped around in shorts and a t-shirt while many people were in long pants and coats. Ha!
